One of my goals this year was to get to the Chicago Botanic Gardens during the peak of fall … I was dying to see it in all it’s fall glory. The problem … Fall is a whirlwind of scheduling and chaos. I didn’t feel like I could steal away alone for a little photo walk. Maybe I could have but it felt indulgent. I finally threw the to-do list to the wind and took a morning to traipse the gardens … only I was about a week late. The trees are almost bare already, but I knew from past experience that there is always beauty to be found. So for the next hour and a half, I did capture the beauty all around me. I get lost in it. I need it. I’m calling it an Art Date. Something I plan to make a habit of – ideally once a week, but likely/more realistically, once or twice a month. Here are a few of what I captured on this beautiful cold late October morning. I love these walks. I need them.
