The painting turned out amazing! I can tell you poured your heart (and tons of time) into that. As far as your living room--I'm really loving the blue grey option. It would open up your space, play as a neutral while still invoking a hint of color. If you want some help with the slipcover, just let me know (though I may be more of a hindrance than a help!)
