So excited and so inspired!
I’ve been very busy since Christmas painting for Kiana’s room, our hallway, my room …
I was in a bit of a funk over Christmas and New Years, finding it difficult to be creative, somehow my emotional state is very tightly tied to my creative flow. But lots of prayer, soul searching, healing, and clarity found in scripture, have brought about a new sense of freedom that I’m grateful for and walking in … it’s been about 6 weeks of never-ending inspiration and creativity that’s been showing itself in the slew of projects I’ve been working on and have planned for the very near future.
Kiana’s painting … it’s really big.
And then there is the bold painting that turned 3D for the hallway and the blue text on the canvas was a Valentine for my hubby based on “our song” during our 5 months of dating long distance.
They are the lyrics to “The Promise” by Traci Chapman. I cannot for the life of me find where I got this idea – I wanted to link to it. I listened to this song on repeat for the 3 hours between Chicago and Grand Rapids numerous times. It’s funny what love will do.
I love thinking back on that those special days. Head over heals. Love.
So now … I have the next two weeks off from photo shoots {aside from my beautiful new nieces today} so I’m taking some time to redecorate!! Major projects happening over here!!
I’ve been waiting to repaint our living room until the windows were in … done. But what color to choose?
I’m re-slip-covering my couch – sewing it myself {what, am I nuts?} I’m scared to death. I have the roll of fabric I got for $2 per yard. But to include piping or not to include piping … and what color to choose for the walls? Yellow again? A Mustard? More of a grey or very very light grey-blue? I want something that will allow all the color going on in my house to pop and not compete. Big decision … then … I got my most recent issue of Country Living and the cover page gave me exactly what I needed … INSPIRED!!!
The couch fabric is the same neutral color I have! The blue piping is PERFECT! The walls will be a shade of white with just a hint of grey-blue which will keep my white trim fresh and crisp. Before and after pictures … for sure. I’m so excited but I’ll be busy. My goal is to have it painted before the mini-sessions benefiting Haiti so my pseudo-studio in the corner of my living room will be fresh and ready! Here goes … my time here may be limited this week and next … but good good GOOD things are happening! Stay tuned!
