my first tutu!

We gave the butterfly costume a test run today. She’s been so unpredictable lately {translation: moody} … I had this fear that she might not wear the tutu for me! But … she LOVES it and she’s so excited to be a butterfly!! I’m so excited to have this little butterfly – the girl-thing is just so awesome! I got to make a tutu!!!:)

Halloween

In case you didn’t know … I have a thing for butterflies. Her room is butterflies, they creep into my artwork, I want a tattoo of a butterfly, the list goes on. I think it’s because they’re beautiful, mysterious, and they are a symbol of freedom to me. Have you ever watched a caterpillar go through the process of becoming a butterfly? We watch it every year. Over the summer, a friend tried to capture the point from when the caterpillar is hanging upside down as a caterpillar {seems like forever} and becomes the hardened crysalis … you know what .. she used the time-lapse feature on her camera all day … stopped for 5 minutes, walked away, and that’s when it happened!! I think it’s a miracle that God did not intend for us to understand. It’s THAT amazing. I really am enamored by the butterfly … and this year … I get to have one running around my house in green and pink stripped tights, a green tutu that I made myself, and pink butterfly wings.  Bliss. I’m shocked at how happy the green tutu makes me.:)It must be all this rain! :)

p.s. I know of two little baby nieces coming into my life in the next 4-5 months who will be getting little baby tutus! Oh my gosh, tiny baby tutus {swoon}! It must be the weather. I’m losing it.
