create {sigh}

I guess I need a deadline to make me create art. Why is it so difficult to get motivated to make stuff without a deadline? Just like when you have company over … it’s great motivation to clean the house! For me … the same goes for making art. I decided at the last minute to join the arts and crafts fair at our school’s fall festival this past Friday evening. I had about a week to get ready. Yikes! I did it primarily to promote the family photography. I gave out 60 business cards and booked my last available slot for 2009! But … I also wanted to have something to offer in case of buyers so I made up a bunch of mixed media bookmarks … and a painting I intended to keep for Kiana. I spent the week with modge podge and paint and little collage type pieces … I forgot how fulfilling it is to play with paint! It was a nice break from the computer.   

All that color is so intoxicating … i love it! The only danger in creating all this yummy colored goodness is that I want to keep them all!  Ahhhhh … I needed that. Now, back to editing and family sessions this week!
