The first ‘field session’ of the year! It was so good to be back out there – I love how the field changes with the seasons – even without the leaves on the trees the out-doorsy shots look so cool! This little family actually won their session via our local Education Foundation silent auction event earlier this year. Lara and I had been going back and forth about doing a session last fall. Once they found out I had donated a session to the foundation fundraiser they ended up being the highest bidders – making their session not only a beautiful spring family session but also helping to raise funds for our district. A good thing all around! Check out this sweet family and their handsome boys!
This is one of my favorite things … when Dad is so connected with his boys. He can be both silly and serious with them. They so clearly love and respect him. As my own boys grow I see the connection with their dad becoming more and more important – they need him. These moments were super silly, but also so beautiful and natural.
Any family with boys … this forest preserve with climbing trees is the place for family sessions. The boys always love it. It never fails – at the end of the session they always, always say, “This place is awesome! Mom, can we come back here sometime?” Mom is happy because the boys are happy. I’m happy because the boys and mom are happy. It’s all about the climbing trees and the outdoors and the open field – whether they are downed trees or upright – it doesn’t matter. Let `em climb and let `em run! Right Lara?! Boys rock. These two were so much like my own.
Thank you so much for bidding on my auction donation Lara and family! I’m so glad this worked out on so many levels!
